Our Top selling T-shirts are the AS Staple Tee, and the JB’s 1HT.
These T-shirts are chosen time and time again and its worth comparing them.
We find that Clients love the 180gsm Staple because its mid weight, so durable and washes well time after time. The Staple has a regular fit but is quite straight and long. For those with a short torso, the Staple does have a Staple minus Tee option which is 5cm shorter.
We find that Clients love the 1HT because it has a slightly heavier gsm and feels comfortable.
Collars -we find the Staple Tees collar does not keep its shape after approx. 30 washes, but that the JB’s 1HT does.
Fading -we find that the Staple Tee fades faster under constant light than the 1HT
Styling – the Staple has more of a retail brand look with flatter seams, the 1HT is a better option for events, schools and workwear
Colour – The staple offers a huge variety of colours, the 1HT is adding colours but does not have nearly as many colour options as the Staple. The colour options from AS colour also carry on into their range so if you are after a Cypress T-shirt for instance, you can also get the same colour in Hoodies and Caps. JB’s does offer this but only in a limited number of colours.
Wash Test – with the 100% cotton, both T-shirts shrink a little as they are both 100% cotton (pure colour ranges)
Feel – Both T-shirts have a smooth feel.
UPF – according to their website the JB’s T1HT -shirt complies with the minimum UPF of 15 and the Staple UPF of 50
Country of Origin – The Staple is made from Australian Cotton, JB uses American Cotton.
Companion Styles – The Staple has a companion women’s t-shirt the Maple and kids T-shirt the kids and youth tees. The 1HT has a companion women’s style 1LHT and kids style 1KT. The 1 KT offers all the colours that are in the 1HT range. The AS Colour youth and kids tees do not come in as many colours as the Staple. Both brands womens tees offer less colour otions than the mens tees.
